Two suspects will appear in the Odendaalsrus Magistrate Court on 24 June 2024 for dealing in drugs

Two suspects will appear in the Odendaalsrus Magistrate Court on 24 June 2024 for dealing in drugs following their arrest by Welkom Public Order Policing members led by Warrant Officer Thabo Booy.

Members received information from Crime Intelligence about two African males dealing in drugs in K10 Section at Kutloanong on Thursday, 20 June 2024.

They followed up information which led the to a house where upon arrival they noticed that they previously arrested the same suspects.

They searched the house and found nine (9) quarters of Mandrax tablets, 27 ziplock bags containing Crystal meth drugs. They further searched inside the yard and 15 quarters of Mandrax tablets and 19 ziplock bags with Crystal meth drugs were seized.

A 43-year-old man and his 23-year-old nephew were re-arrested for possession of drugs. During May 2024 the duo was arrested for possession and dealing in drugs at Odendaalsrus.

Upon arrival at Odendaalsrus Police Station, one of the suspects tried to bribe members with R1500-00 cash then another charge of bribery was added and the cash was seized as exhibit.
